Return Policy

Iowa Prison Industries allows for the return of stock items that have not been used and are in new condition, within 30 business days of invoice date. IPI custom made items, chemicals and chemical products are non-returnable unless the product has defects in workmanship, material or an error was made by IPI. All goods must have IPI authorization before returning any items.

All return requests must be submitted via a Request For Warranty / Repair / Return form, email or fax. Returns must be in original or proper packaging to protect against damage. If damage occurs in return shipment due to improper packaging a credit may be denied.

Returned items must include all parts, accessories, manuals and documentation originally received. Any returns received without these items may be subject to partial refund.

Returned items are subject to a maximum restocking fee of 25%. Contact IPI Customer Service at 800-332-7922 or ipicustomerservice@iowa.gov for more information regarding returns.

Shortage and Damage

Shortage and Damage claims must be reported to IPI Customer Service within specified timeframe to preserve your right to return the damaged merchandise and/or fulfill any error made by IPI. Photos of any issues may be requested to evaluate the situation for solutions and improvements.

For Damaged Items
- Note on driver’s packing slip at the time of delivery and notify IPI Customer Service.

For Shortage or Concealed Damage Items
- Report to IPI Customer Service within 10 business days after the invoice date.
