Refurbished Signs

Refurbishing your existing signs through IPI can offer you an estimated 30-40%* savings compared to purchasing new signs!

Notice: Effective 1/1/2026, IPI implemented a price increase on our sign refurbishing services. Current pricing is listed below.

Refurbished signs are sanded, cleaned, and optionally re-faced with your choice of sign face. IPI can face with either Hi-Intensity Prismatic (HIP) or Diamond Grade Cubed (DGC) sheeting.

• Old signs must be at least 12" x 12" in size and be free of excessive bends or damage
• Old signs must be made with aluminum substrate only **steel signs are not accepted**
• The sanding process will slightly reduce the thickness of the aluminum

• Sand & clean old sign only: $2.00 / square foot
  
• Refurbish old sign with new message: $2.75 / square foot
  - Includes sand, clean and application of new face
  - Faces sold separately
• Cut existing signs to a new size: $3.00 each
• Punch new holes in sign: $1.00 each

Refurbishing signs with IPI is easy! The process is as follows:

1. Customer requests a pickup for existing signs including quantities and sizes of signs (fill out the form to the right or call 800-332-7922). Pickups of 50lbs or larger must be banded or properly secured to a pallet. 
2. IPI's Anamosa Warehouse will schedule a pickup with the designated contact at your organization.
3. IPI will provide you a list of signs that we are able to refurbish. IPI reserves the right to reject any sign that IPI staff determines is unacceptable for refurbishing; rejected signs will be returned or can be recycled at no charge.
4. Customer provides IPI list of messages and materials to be put on the signs.
5. IPI will provide you an order acknowledgement with all of your refurbished sign details and pricing.
6. Upon your approval, IPI will perform the work requested.
