On May 2, 2023, two Iowa Prison Industries staff members were recognized for achievements at the 2023 North Central Correctional Facility ERC Event.

Pictured from left to right in the picture are Industries Technician Martin Chase, Industries Supervisor Julie Holtorf, and NCCF Deputy Warden Adam Yetmar.

Julie Holtorf, Supervisor of IPI's Rockwell City operation, was awarded NCCF's Excellence in Safety Award. Julie has served in her current position since June 2022 and was previously an Industries Technician at IPI's Fort Dodge location. Since assuming her role in Rockwell City, Julie has dedicated much time to process improvements, safety training, cleanliness and organization. Under Julie’s direction, the I/I workers have established many training protocols, updated emergency response plans, implemented PPE requirements, completed Job Hazard Analyses, reviewed all SDS records, reviewed LOTO equipment, updated all LOTO procedures, implemented forklift training and inspection protocol, and worked to organize all areas of the production floor.

Industries Technician Martin Chase was nominated for NCCF Employee of the Year. Martin only recently began working in IPI's Rockwell City operation, and he was previously employed as a correctional officer at NCCF.

IPI congratulates Martin and Julie on their accomplishments and thank them for their dedication to the IDOC and IPI's missions.
