Iowa Prison Industries is proud to have been a part of the lives of recent retirees and will not forget the amazing accomplishments these individuals achieved during their time with IPI. Each of them have left their mark on the organization and the incarcerated individuals they worked with over their employment. IPI wishes them all the best as they begin new journeys!

Lennie Miller

Lennie Miller’s last day with IPI was March 23, 2018. Lennie has done an amazing job running the Anamosa Braille Center and mentoring incarcerated individuals in that shop as they become certified in braille transcription. Over the years, IPI has received many heartfelt testimonials from parents and educators as to the braille shop’s role in helping children learn and succeed. Congratulation and best wishes, Lennie! Keith Paulson has now taken over the Braille Center.

Becky Retirement

Becky Bessine retired on March 30, 2018, after more than 31 years of service. Most recently, Becky served as the Fort Madison Plant Manager. Becky and her team have accomplished a lot over the years, and she was recently named "National Staff Person of the Year" by the National Correctional Industries Association. We wish Becky the best in her retirement! Jeff Bailey, Supervisor for Fort Madison Plant, has been named Interim Plant Manager.

Dennis Retirement

Dennis Barry, Sales Representative, retired effective June 1, 2018, after over 19 years working with governmental agencies and other organizations across Iowa. His knowledge of IPI's furniture lines will be missed by both IPI and customers. Until a replacement is hired, Dennis' current customers may contact Ann Baughman with any furniture needs.
