About IPI Seating Operations

1. Mitchellville Panels & Seating is IPI's main upholstery shop. Almost all office style chairs, lounge furniture and stacking chairs are assembled and upholstered at this location. The shop also does reupholstery of nearly any type of chair. In FY2011, the Mitchellville produced over 6,000 seating items.
   
   
2. Fort Madison Furniture provides wood chair frames to the Mitchellville plant for final assembly and upholstery. Wood refinishing of chair frames or all wood chairs is completed at Fort Madison.
   
   
3. Anamosa Metal Furniture produces mainly classroom seating along with a few metal framed chairs. This shop also supplies metal chair frames to Mitchellville.
   
   
4. Anamosa Custom Wood manufacturers a few wood chairs as well as offers restoration services.

Besides all of our standard seating lines, Iowa Prison Industries also has the ability to custom produce items.
