State Of Iowa Surplus Property

When state agencies no longer need equipment or furnishings, it is turned over to State Surplus. State Surplus then offers these items for sale to IPI’s eligible customers for business or personal use:

• Tax-supported institutions and government subdivisions, including state, county and city agencies, and school districts.
• Non-profit groups, including churches, fraternal organizations and parochial schools.
• Employees of eligible institutions, agencies and organizations.

Effective July 1, 2005, State Surplus is available for purchase by the general public.

Items available through State Surplus include computers, office furniture and other miscellaneous items. Please visit the Inventory page for a partial listing of items currently available for sale. Items for sale may be viewed at the the State Surplus Property Office in downtown Des Moines.

Surplus is CLOSED on Mondays.
