Federal Surplus Property
The Federal Government makes available excess equipment to qualified
public agencies and non-profit organizations for use in their business
operations:
- Public agencies including state, county and city agencies and
public school districts.
- Non-profit groups that qualify including colleges and universities,
libraries, museums, hospitals and eligible non-profit schools,
etc.
The Federal Surplus program is covered by Federal nondiscrimination
laws that prohibit discrimination based on race, color, national
origin, age, disability and sex. For

Private companies, the general public and employees
of eligible organizations are NOT eligible to purchase
from Federal Surplus.
All organizations that wish to purchase from Federal Surplus must
provide a completed Federal Surplus
Application.
Items available through Federal Surplus include vehicles, office
equipment and furnishings, tools and other miscellaneous items.
Please visit the Inventory page for
a partial listing of items currently available for sale. Federal
Surplus may also be able to locate equipment not currently in stock;
just fill out the Surplus Request Form.
Current inventory may be viewed at the the Federal Surplus Property
Office in Des Moines.
