As flu season nears, we are seeing increased media attention on the H1N1 Flu including large estimates on how many people will catch the virus this flu season. IPI has received numerous inquiries concerning this virus.
The 2009 H1N1 Flu is caused by an influenza A virus. The EPA believes, based on available scientific information, that the currently registered influenza A virus products will be effective against the 2009 H1N1 flu strain and other influenza A virus strains on hard, non-porous surfaces.*
