Waiver Request for Iowa State Agencies

Pursuant to the purchasing requirements found in Iowa Code Section 904.808, Iowa State agencies shall not purchase from a source other that Iowa Prison Industries, except when the purchase is under emergency circumstances or when the agency receives a waiver from IPI after mutually determining that IPI is unable to meet the performance characteristics of the purchase request or when an agency purchases a product from a targeted small business for $5,000 or less.

If your agency has determined that IPI's products/services do not meet your needs, you must request a waiver from IPI. The Waiver Request form can be downloaded here or you may request the form be e-mailed or faxed to you by calling 800-670-4537.
