IPI is pleased to announce the consolidation of our two chemical shops (Anamosa Housekeeping/Laundry and Mitchellville Housekeeping/Chemicals) into one shop at the IPI operations at the Anamosa State Penitentiary. Staff has worked diligently over the past few months to ensure a seamless transition for our customers.
The Mitchellville shop had opened in 2008 to better serve our Central Iowa customers with their general cleaning chemical and Green Seal Certified chemical needs. Institutional laundry and warewash products remained at Anamosa, and all other products moved the Mitchellville shop. While the program at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women at Mitchellville provided the incarcerated female workers excellent training in chemical mixing, packaging, inventory management and warehousing, customers would often receive their orders in two shipments. Many customers found this to be inconvenient and confusing. After examining warehouse space, staffing levels, production capacity, and delivery schedules, the decision was made to close the Mitchellville location and consolidate all the chemicals back to Anamosa.
IPI looks forward to continuing to provide our customers efficient chemical order processing and delivery from our Anamosa location. All IPI chemicals are available for ordering on the IPI website.
